No matter how much a person may enjoy spending their leisure time in the great outdoors there exists an undeniable fact: human beings were not meant to live in the woods without shelter. In that regard, if one does wish to partake in the time honored tradition of camping, it is advised to bring some comfortable bedding along for the ride which is one of the more recommended pieces of equipment that makes camping a pleasurable experience as opposed to a fight against the elements.

The air mattress with cot is easily transportable. It is not a bulky or heavy item and can be easily mobilized in the standard backpacking model that traditional sleeping bag fans utilize. There is no reason why the air mattress with cot can not be moved about the wilderness in the same manner as a traditional sleeping bag; it just requires a slight bit of extra effort.

However, one must take a few extra steps when using an air mattress with cot when using it in cold weather. A sleeping bag helps the person using to retain heat. An air mattress with cot can cause heat to escape if the individual does not take the proper steps to keep themselves insulated. This is not a warning about using an air mattress with cot as so much as an acknowledgment that it is a different piece of equipment than a sleeping bag and is utilized in a slightly different manner.

Doubling Up

Of course, the easy way around this is to use both a sleeping bag and an air mattress with cot! Simply put the sleeping bag on top of the air mattress with cot. This adds to the comfort of the experience and allows for a great night’s sleep out in the middle of nowhere. This is not only something that makes camping more desirable, but using the mattress and cot combination will make you the envy of all of your camping companions.
